Designer, Publishing

Responsibilities

Design compelling book covers, interiors, and supporting materials across a variety of formats and age categories

Collaborate with editorial, franchise/licensing, and production teams throughout the development process

Work with illustrators, photographers, and external creative partners to bring projects to life

Prepare files for print and digital publishing formats

Contribute to the development of visual systems, templates, and design guidelines that support brand consistency

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and production schedules

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BA, BFA) and/or equivalent design education

5+ years of experience in publishing design

Solid portfolio demonstrating excellence in book cover design, interior design (1‑color and 4‑color), typography, and visual storytelling

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Knowledge of print production, file preparation, color management, and publishing workflows

Experience finding, hiring, collaborating with, and art directing illustrators
