Content Strategist, Podcasts & Video (Part time)

SoFi · New York, NY, USA ·

Job type:
Part Time

Role:
SoFi's Content Strategy team is seeking a part-time Content Strategist to support our Podcasts & Video program — specifically our flagship property, The Important Part: Investing with Liz Thomas podcast (TIP). This role sits at the intersection of editorial rigor, production operations, and AI-enabled workflow. You'll be the connective tissue that keeps TIP's content machine moving: ensuring scripts are sharp, production days run smoothly, deliverables hit deadlines, and every asset — from thumbnail to long‑form video — clears quality and compliance bars before it goes out the door.

This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role for someone who is equally comfortable in a live recording session and a compliance tracker. You move fast, communicate clearly, and never let details slip.

What You’ll Do:
Editorial & Production Support

Review and edit scripts for clarity, accuracy, and brand voice ahead of recording

Attend recordings and provide live, real‑time feedback during shoots and tapings

Conduct QA on long‑form and short‑form video and audio content (V1s and V2s), delivering clear and specific editorial direction with each round

Write and edit copy for long‑ and short‑form content across formats as needed — from episode descriptions to social pull‑quotes

YouTube & Organic Discovery

Support day‑to‑day YouTube channel management for TIP, including uploads, metadata, thumbnails, playlists, titles, descriptions, tags, end screens, and related video strategy

Write and iterate YouTube titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and packaging to improve organic discovery, CTR, retention, and subscriber growth

Track performance signals across full episodes, clips, and Shorts, identifying patterns and opportunities to improve reach and engagement

Stay current on YouTube best practices, platform changes, and organic growth strategies for video‑first podcasts

Content Calendar & Project Management

Own and maintain TIP’s content calendar, tracking all deliverables across video, audio, written, and visual formats

Ensure all moving parts — thumbnails, tiles, copy, video cuts, audio files, and written assets — are delivered on time and to spec

Serve as the operational hub for TIP, flagging risks, resolving blockers, and keeping the broader team aligned on status

AI‑Enabled Operations

Identify and implement AI‑assisted tools to accelerate script review, transcription, copy drafting, and asset QA

Build repeatable AI‑augmented workflows that reduce manual lift on production cycles

Stay current on emerging tools relevant to podcast and video content production

Compliance

Manage all compliance submissions for TIP content, including tracking requests, routing redlines, following up on approvals, and implementing required changes

Maintain a clear compliance log so no submission falls through the cracks

Who You Are:

You have 5+ years of experience in content production, editorial, or a content operations role — ideally with podcast, video, or multimedia experience

You are a sharp editor who can give specific, actionable feedback, not just general notes

You are an organized, proactive project manager who thrives on owning a calendar and holding a team to deadlines

You are comfortable in live production environments and can communicate feedback diplomatically and clearly in real time

You are fluent in AI‑assisted tools and eager to build smarter workflows

Experience with financial content or fintech is a plus; comfort translating complex topics for a general audience is required

You have hands‑on experience managing or supporting YouTube channels, ideally for podcasts, video series, media brands, or creator‑led content

You can write sharp, audience‑first copy without losing brand voice or compliance discipline

You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
