Job Title: Director Content & Communications Strategy
About The Position D/Cipher is seeking a strategic storyteller and communications leader who can transform complex AdTech and digital media concepts into compelling narratives that drive awareness, credibility, and business growth. This role sits at the intersection of content, communications, brand, and demand generation, shaping how D/Cipher is represented across the marketplace. The director will lead executive thought leadership strategy, industry communications, award submissions, social strategy, and integrated marketing initiatives to strengthen brand presence and position the company as a category leader.
Success metrics include establishing a differentiated market presence, increasing executive recognition as industry voices, maintaining high‑quality messaging across channels, collaborating across teams to drive measurable business outcomes, and expanding visibility through events, media, awards, and partnerships.
Location & Schedule Hybrid 3 days a week in New York (in‑office); remote up to two days per week.
About the D/Cipher Team D/Cipher is People Inc.’s in‑house media intelligence platform and activation team, utilizing user engagement data from the nation’s largest publisher to help advertisers reach active intenders. The team focuses on expanding and executing D/Cipher off‑property initiatives and supports both D/Cipher and People Inc. sales with branding, market positioning, sales materials, RFI/RFP responses, internal messaging, thought leadership, PR, collateral, team events, paid media opportunities, promotions, and research tools.
Position’s Contributions Content, Brand & Market Visibility (35%) Develop high‑impact content across channels: thought leadership, executive communications, sales narratives, award submissions, email newsletters, brand messaging.
Lead social media strategy and execution, primarily on LinkedIn and executive visibility.
Identify and secure opportunities to increase brand awareness via industry events, publications, partnerships, and awards.
Ensure consistency of messaging and storytelling across all external communications.

Integrated Marketing & Cross‑Functional Leadership (35%) Lead communications initiatives across paid, earned, and owned channels to maximize reach, engagement, and business impact.
Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, Brand, and Creative teams to align messaging, support go‑to‑market efforts, and accelerate pipeline growth.
Help establish communication priorities, editorial calendars, and campaign alignment across the organization.
Measure and optimize performance using communications and marketing metrics.

Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership (30%) Develop and execute an integrated communications and thought‑leadership strategy to strengthen market position and brand authority.
Translate complex products, technologies, and industry trends into clear, persuasive narratives for customers, partners, media, and industry audiences.
Partner with executive leadership to develop key messaging, POVs, bylines, speaking opportunities, and external visibility programs.
Lead public relations efforts and, where applicable, manage agency relationships.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 10+ years of marketing and communications experience, including at least 5 years within AdTech, digital media, marketing technology, or related industries.
Skills & Abilities: Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills; ability to influence diverse audiences.
Proven experience in content strategy, thought leadership, executive communications, PR, and award submissions.
Deep understanding of the AdTech, digital advertising, and media landscape.
Strategic mindset with ability to connect initiatives to business objectives.
Adaptable, collaborative, comfortable in dynamic environments.
Ownership mentality with bias for action and execution.
Success leading thought leadership, social media, PR, and integrated communication programs.
Experience executing multi‑channel campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media.
Strong analytical mindset with performance measurement and attribution understanding.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into compelling narratives.

Pay Range New York: $115,000.00 – $125,000.00
Remote: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range depending on location, experience, and performance. The range listed is one component of People Inc.'s total compensation package. Other compensation may include annual bonuses and short‑ and long‑term incentives.
