About the Role


The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Marketing and Communications. The successful candidate will be a senior leader responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, integrated marketing and communications strategy to advance fundraising and alumni engagement goals. This role involves overseeing proposal writing, development materials, messaging, branding, and campaign communications, ensuring alignment with the company's standards. The AVC will lead a high-performing team, manage staffing, workflow, and performance, and foster collaboration across the advancement and with campus partners. Essential functions include strategic leadership, planning, and the application of data-driven practices to inform and optimize marketing and communications strategies.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, with at least 10 years of leadership experience in marketing or communications, and 5 years of experience managing personnel. The role requires a proven track record in developing and executing strategic communications plans, as well as experience in leading marketing or communications teams, preferably in advancement, fundraising, or a complex organizational setting. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a communications-intensive discipline and experience in higher education advancement or nonprofit fundraising. Key skills include expertise in marketing principles, strategies, and best practices, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and to use data and analytics to inform decision-making. The role demands a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
