POLITICO is seeking an associate video producer-editor to join our growing audio and video team.
The ideal candidate is a strong video editor and producer, capable of producing quick clips and longer, polished, multi‑cam shoots. Sharp news judgement and a deep understanding of or interest in U.S. politics are critical. Experience creating compelling content for social media and familiarity with editing podcast video are both strong pluses.

What You'll Do
Produce, write and edit daily news and enterprise videos, including short explainers, multi‑cam interviews, vertical video for social, and filmed podcasts.
Work with POLITICO reporters and editors covering politics and policy to support video storytelling
Identify moments within articles that can be enhanced with video elements such as soundbites, speeches and breaking news clips
Pitch video ideas tied to events, reporter coverage and emerging trends
Adapt print stories into clear, visually engaging videos under editorial guidance
Help develop creative approaches to using video to explain complex policy issues
Collaborate with video teammates on script edits, fact checking and video revisions
Coordinate with the video team to meet daily deadlines and production needs
What You'll Need
1–3 years of experience in digital video production and editing
Expertise in Adobe Premiere. After Effects and Photoshop competence is a strong plus
Ability to edit quickly and cleanly for a variety of platforms
Comfort with shooting in studio, in the field and remotely when required
Ideas and knowledge to pitch innovative stories
Appetite for D.C. politics and insider knowledge
Confidence to work with high‑profile newsmakers including inside the newsroom
Strong communication and organizational skills
Social media chops and a good understanding of use of visuals, particularly video
