Position Overview

Our client, a growing architecture and design firm in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to lead business development initiatives, drive pursuit and proposal efforts, and elevate the firm's presence within the private-sector market. This individual will play a critical role in supporting revenue growth by developing winning proposals, managing client-facing marketing materials, identifying new business opportunities, and strengthening relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a strategic marketer with experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry who understands the pursuit process, excels at creating compelling collateral, and has a proven ability to support business development efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Engagement

Partner with firm leadership to identify and pursue new business opportunities within private-sector markets.
Support relationship-building efforts with developers, owners, contractors, consultants, and other key industry partners.
Research prospective clients, projects, and market trends to help position the firm for growth.
Track leads, opportunities, and pursuit activities within CRM and business development platforms.
Assist with networking events, conferences, industry organizations, and client outreach initiatives.
Pursuits & Proposals

Lead the preparation, coordination, and production of RFQs, RFPs, interview presentations, and qualification packages.
Manage proposal schedules and deadlines while coordinating input from technical staff, leadership, and consultants.
Develop persuasive, client-focused messaging that clearly communicates the firm's capabilities and differentiators.
Maintain and update proposal content libraries, resumes, project sheets, and marketing databases.
Coordinate interview preparation, presentation materials, and rehearsal sessions.
Create and maintain high-quality marketing collateral, including brochures, project sheets, qualifications packages, presentations, and digital content.
Ensure all marketing materials align with brand standards and effectively showcase project experience.
Collaborate with project teams to gather project information, photography, and success stories for marketing purposes.
Support website content updates, social media initiatives, email campaigns, and related marketing activities.
Develop content highlighting the firm's experience across private-sector project types.
Strategic Marketing

Assist leadership with annual marketing and business development planning.
Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities.
Evaluate marketing performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to strengthen the firm's visibility and market positioning.
Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
5+ years of marketing experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
Demonstrated experience supporting business development initiatives and client relationship efforts.
Strong background managing pursuits, proposals, RFQs, RFPs, and interview presentations.
Experience developing marketing collateral targeted toward private-sector clients.
Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and CRM platforms.
Preferred

Experience working with architecture or multidisciplinary design firms.
Knowledge of Arizona and Southwest market sectors.
Familiarity with Deltek, OpenAsset, Cosential, HubSpot, or similar marketing and CRM platforms.
Experience supporting developer-driven and private-sector projects.
