Purpose
Provide operational and day‑to‑day support to the UIL Media department and assist with event duties.
Responsibilities
Support the UIL media department by monitoring and responding to emails and social media messages, maintaining files, spreadsheets, and digital assets.
Help prepare for UIL events by processing media credential requests, tracking production deadlines, and updating creative and marketing materials.
Collaborate with the media team to support social media efforts, including creating content outlines, gathering assets, scheduling posts, and tracking performance; work with UIL staff to promote accurate coverage of UIL events and initiatives.
Create basic informational updates and graphics for UIL digital assets and social media platforms using Canva and Adobe, and assist with drafting official UIL communications as needed.
Attend UIL state championship events and relevant meetings as assigned; support the media team at events by distributing credentials, facilitating media accommodations, and fostering a positive environment for participants, media, and the public.
Occasional travel, evening, weekend, and holiday work is required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and prior work‑related experience with clerical functions and event coordination. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, collaborate with a team, and exhibit excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
One to five years of event coordination and planning experience; first‑hand knowledge of UIL and UIL events; experience in media relations and sports information duties; proficiency with Canva or Adobe software.
Driving Requirement
Class "C" operator’s driver’s license is required. Applicants must provide a current three‑year driving record from their state of residence. Non‑Texas residents must obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Working Conditions
Standard office conditions with repetitive keyboard use.
Manual dexterity required.
Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work; occasional travel.
