Export Control Compliance Manager
Location: Herndon, Virginia
The role ensures an end‑to‑end export control process, tracks export issues, supports compliance, and manages licenses to prevent delays, additional costs, or sanctions.
Responsibilities
Support the business to ensure compliant and timely delivery to customers in collaboration with the global export control team.
Continuously track evolution of export control national and international laws and regulations (including ITAR and EAR) and liaise with relevant government authorities.
Provide permanent advice and support including tools and training to business functions concerned.
Maintain intelligence on end‑use countries or customers.
Prepare export control documentation to secure timely clearance.
Apply for export licenses, release deliveries, perform physical checks, classification, administer licenses, maintain record keeping, and oversee sanctions.
Continuously improve the performance of the export control function, including training and surveys.
Define, update, and enforce an end‑to‑end export control process.
Support implementation of Airbus Directives and Methods.
Update lists of products, documentation, equipment, components, and parts subject to export restriction.
Work with the business to ensure high export control and customs standards and awareness training, and develop business processes.
Analyze orders and deliveries to guide the business on best practice, optimize order flows, and support audit, reporting to HO function, and customs compliance responsibilities.
Travel for business up to 10% domestically.
Qualifications
Degree in Business or similar, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience in U.S. import and export operations and compliance.
4 years of overall supply chain experience preferred.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written (mandatory).
Able to work in the U.S. without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements
Onsite or remote: 80% onsite, 20% remote.
Vision: able to see and read computer screen and electronic equipment.
Hearing: able to hear conversations and safety warnings.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings.
Equipment operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools.
Carrying: able to carry documents and tools up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
Lifting: able to lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
Pushing / pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings or on computer.
Squatting / kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
Personal protective equipment required: safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks and gloves; steel‑toed shoes for shop floor visits.
Administrative position only PPE required: steel‑toed shoes; hearing/eye protection may also be required for shop floor visits.
