About the Role
We are seeking talented and versatile freelance graphic designers to join our creative team at Sid Jacobson JCC. This role involves supporting a broad spectrum of marketing, communications, and branding initiatives across the organization. The successful candidates will play a critical role in conceptualizing and executing visual content that aligns with our brand identity and strategic goals. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on both production‑based design projects and high‑level campaign initiatives, contributing to the organization’s outreach and engagement efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for visual storytelling, an elevated aesthetic sensibility, and proficiency in translating ideas into compelling visual narratives. They should be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating strong attention to detail, collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to deadlines. This role may involve working on a variety of deliverables, including print materials, digital assets, social media graphics, branding suites, and event‑related visuals, ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing their creative thinking, technical skills, and versatility across print and digital media. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, is essential. Experience designing multi‑page publications and preparing files for print production is preferred, along with a solid understanding of branding standards and visual identity.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with internal teams. Additional skills such as motion graphics, video editing, and web design are considered a plus. A keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, edit, and produce a wide array of graphic communications for various initiatives, including brochures, flyers, invitations, direct mailings, multi‑page publications, posters, videos, website graphics, animated graphics, banners, plaques, social media graphics, logos, and digital assets. Projects may encompass full campaign branding suites, including save‑the‑dates, invitations, digital promotions, environmental signage, presentations, and day‑of materials.

Ensure all designs adhere to the organization’s branding standards and visual identity guidelines, maintaining consistency across all materials. Develop layouts and visual compositions that effectively communicate messages, incorporating typography, imagery, and graphic elements suitable for both print and digital platforms.

Manage projects from initial concept through to final production, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outputs. Review and evaluate finished materials for visual consistency, print quality, color accuracy, and content accuracy, making recommendations for improvements as needed. Prepare final artwork files optimized for print and digital use, ensuring readiness for production or deployment.

Occasionally, the role may require availability for expedited or time‑sensitive projects, demanding flexibility and responsiveness from the designer. The ability to develop sample layouts, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and coordinate with internal teams and vendors is essential for success in this position.
