Position Summary
The Marketing & Business Development Manager is responsible for executing the firm's marketing and business development initiatives to enhance brand visibility, strengthen client relationships, and support revenue growth. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Business Development, this role partners with attorneys and firm leadership to develop strategic marketing campaigns, manage client events, support business development efforts, and oversee marketing communications.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute client events, attorney speaking engagements, CLE programs, conferences, sponsorships, and networking events.
Develop event strategies aligned with firm and practice group business development objectives.
Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, logistics, post‑event follow‑up, and ROI tracking.
Partner with attorneys to develop thought leadership programs and client‑facing educational initiatives.
Coordinate submissions for legal directories, rankings, and industry awards, including drafting content and managing deadlines.
Support attorneys with pitches, proposals, RFP responses, presentations, and cross‑selling initiatives.
Maintain and update marketing collateral, website content, attorney biographies, and other firm material.
Research clients, prospects, industries, competitors, and market trends to identify business development opportunities.
Assist with digital marketing initiatives, including website updates, email marketing, and social media content.
Monitor marketing performance, industry trends, and emerging technologies to recommend process improvement.
Perform additional marketing and business development duties as assigned.
Travel to firm events as needed (approximately 10%).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
5–8 years of marketing and business development experience in a professional services environment; law firm experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing events from planning through execution.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the firm.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Professional judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); HubSpot experience is a plus.
