Deputy Design Oversight Manager - I-24 Choice Lanes

Overview

HNTB is seeking an experienced engineering leader to design oversight for the I-24 Choice Lanes Project, a $5 billion partnership that will create two new lanes in each direction across a 26‑mile corridor. The role involves coordinating with the selected developer, supervising the general engineering consultant, and delivering technical leadership across right‑of‑way, railroad, utility, and environmental coordination.
Responsibilities

Develop project scope, fee quotation, and assist in preparing technical proposals and contracts.
Serve as primary client liaison, managing project team to deliver on scope, schedule, and budget.
Perform technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specifications, and production.
Implement HNTB’s project delivery plan, develop and execute project management plans, and supervise/mentor team members.
Oversee project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and performance reviews.
Partner with client service leaders for business development, proposal preparation, and presentation of projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
10 years of relevant engineering experience.
2 years of successful engineering project management.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering.
12 years of relevant experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Additional Information
