The Technical Director (TD) is responsible for executing live and pre-recorded multi-camera productions by operating the video switcher and managing real-time visual elements to deliver a seamless, high-quality broadcast. This role serves as a critical control room operator, partnering closely with the Director, Producers, and Technical Operations teams to ensure precise execution of all video sources, graphics integration, and overall show flow.

Responsibilities
Execute live and pre-recorded multi-camera productions by operating video switchers, ensuring accurate and seamless transitions between all video sources
Collaborate with the Director and production team to configure and execute switcher setups that align with each show’s creative and technical requirements
Manage stage monitor feeds, multiviewer configurations, and overall visual output during live broadcasts
Prepare and verify all technical elements for broadcast, including switcher configurations, animations, and graphics integration
Coordinate with Technical Operations Center (TOC) and remote sites to ensure proper setup, routing, and functionality of incoming and outgoing video feeds
Monitor and manage video signal flow and routing, troubleshooting issues in real time to maintain broadcast continuity
Interface with Engineering teams to report and resolve equipment or system issues
Provide technical expertise and input to production teams to enhance overall production value
Maintain full awareness of live production status, adapting quickly to changes, timing adjustments, and technical challenges
Support control room operations by ensuring all systems are configured and functioning at broadcast standards
Required Qualifications
5 -10+ years of experience as a Technical Director in live multi-camera studio and/or remote production environments
Hands‑on experience operating professional video switchers, including Sony XVS (Ross experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of switcher setup, configuration, and integration with graphics systems for live production
Understanding of video signal flow, routing, and peripheral device control
Familiarity with broadcast rundowns and production workflows (ENPS experience preferred)
Proven ability to communicate effectively with Directors, Producers, and technical teams in live production environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with modern broadcast infrastructure, including SMPTE 2110 environments
Working knowledge of advanced graphics systems (e.g., Ross Mira GFX)
Experience supporting HDR and 4K production workflows
Familiarity with vMix, Stream Deck, and Solid State Logic (SSL) systems
Experience in large‑scale or nationally broadcast productions

Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as required for production setup and support
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on production needs
Seasonal employment up to 7 months
