Director Shared Services

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Shared Services to lead and optimize HR and administrative service delivery across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing centralized shared services functions, improving operational efficiency, enhancing employee experience, and ensuring consistent execution of HR and business support processes. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience building scalable service delivery models in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Shared Services operations
Oversee HR operations functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HR administration
Develop and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Drive process standardization, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
Maintain accuracy and integrity of HRIS and employee data systems
Lead, coach, and develop shared services teams and operational staff
Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and business leaders to align service delivery with organizational goals
Support change management initiatives, organizational restructuring, and process improvements
Analyze workforce and service data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Ensure high-quality employee support and issue resolution across service channels
Qualifications

8–12+ years of progressive HR or shared services experience
3–5+ years in a leadership role managing HR operations or shared services teams
Strong understanding of HR operations, HRIS systems, and service delivery models
Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar preferred)
Proven ability to manage KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience in multi-site or complex organizational environments preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field required (Master’s preferred)
