About the Role

Oak & Ash Events is seeking a

Furniture Department Lead

to oversee the quality, organization, and maintenance of our furniture and wood‑based rental pieces. This role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and passionate about craftsmanship, event design, or interiors.

Key Responsibilities

Carpentry & Repair

Perform light to moderate carpentry and repairs on bars, backdrops, wood furnishings, and custom pieces

Refinish, sand, repaint, and touch‑up items as needed to ensure a consistent, rent‑ready appearance

Maintain tools, supplies, and a clean, functional work area

Quality Control

Inspect all furniture, bars, and wood items as they return from events

Identify wear, damage, and needed repairs; complete fixes promptly

Ensure items are clean, polished, and ready for upcoming orders

Refresh inventory regularly to maintain luxury‑level presentation

Warehouse Organization

Keep the furniture department clean, tidy, and well‑organized

Maintain proper shelving, labeling, spacing, and safe storage practices

Assist with loading/unloading furniture for deliveries when needed

Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager

Communicate repair needs, supplies needed, and project timelines

Requirements

Experience in carpentry, woodworking, furniture repair, or related trade

Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a warehouse environment

Comfortable lifting 50–75 lbs as needed (furniture‑based role)

Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

Positive attitude, team‑oriented, and proactive

Interest in events, interiors, or design is a plus

Ability to work occasional weekends depending on the event schedule (rare, but appreciated)
