AVP Specialty Casualty (Environmental)

New York City, NY (In Office Focused)

A growing specialty carrier is seeking an Environmental Underwriter at the Senior Underwriter, AVP, or VP level to help drive strategic growth across the Northeast. This role focuses on Environmental Liability, General Liability, Excess Liability, and Contractors Pollution business, with an emphasis on expanding into middle-market manufacturing and product‑related environmental risks.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite Environmental, GL, CPL, and Excess Liability accounts

Develop and manage broker relationships, primarily through the wholesale channel

Drive profitable new business production

Support portfolio growth throughout New York City and the Northeast region

Collaborate with underwriting leadership on market strategy and appetite expansion

Ideal Background

6+ years of Environmental and/or Casualty underwriting experience

Strong technical underwriting expertise and broker relationships

Experience with Environmental Liability, Contractors Pollution, or Excess Liability
