Linux Production Engineer

Compensation
Up to $400k split between base and bonuses

A leading high‑frequency trading firm is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to manage and evolve a high‑performance, low‑latency infrastructure estate. This role sits within a core infrastructure team responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of trading‑critical systems.

You’ll be working in an environment where microseconds matter, supporting a diverse fleet of Linux servers underpinning trading, research, and market data platforms.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain a large‑scale Linux server environment across trading and research systems

Support and optimise low‑latency infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance

Own and improve core services including DNS, networking, and system‑level tooling

Automate operational workflows using Python and other scripting languages

Troubleshoot complex system and performance issues across hardware, OS, and network layers

Collaborate with network engineers, SREs, and trading teams to enhance system reliability

Requirements

Strong experience administering Linux systems in a performance‑critical environment

Solid understanding of low‑latency infrastructure and tuning (CPU, memory, kernel, networking)

Experience managing DNS and core networking services

Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling

Strong troubleshooting skills across systems and infrastructure layers

Experience in trading, finance, or similarly latency‑sensitive environments is highly desirable
