Would you like to work with some of the most consequential companies in technology building things the world will actually remember? If so, Outlier Partners is the place for you.

Outlier Partners is a boutique PR and communications firm with a senior‑led team and a roster that spans AI, defense tech, consumer tech, autonomous machines, brain‑computer interfaces, clean energy, legal AI, government technology, music AI, entertainment, and AI publishing. Our clients are backed by Khosla Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, and Kleiner Perkins. Their stories run in the New York Times, CNBC, Bloomberg, Rolling Stone, and VentureBeat.

Every client gets real strategy, real writing, and real relationships with journalists who matter. If you want to do the best PR work of your career on companies that are actually changing things, this is the job.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Account Executive who reads the news obsessively, find the angle before the client does, write pitches that get opened, and build relationships with reporters that last. You can manage multiple fast‑moving accounts without dropping anything, and you bring the kind of editorial instinct that makes every piece of work stronger.

This role blends hands‑on media outreach with strategic counsel and internal mentorship. You will work across a diverse roster covering AI, defense, consumer tech, government technology, entertainment, clean energy, and legal tech, with the autonomy to own your accounts and the support of a team that takes the work seriously.

What You Will Do

Lead proactive media outreach across multiple accounts and consistently secure high‑quality coverage across business, tech, consumer, entertainment, and trade press

Own and deepen media relationships with regular contact across traditional and new media including Substack, podcasts, and YouTube

Generate bold pitch angles by reading the news obsessively and connecting client stories to the moments that matter

Contribute to client strategy on weekly calls, providing timely updates and pushing back when the approach needs to change

Draft and edit pitches, press releases, op‑eds, briefing documents, and messaging frameworks that are good enough to publish

Mentor and support junior team members on media outreach, writing, and how to think like a journalist

Move fast without cutting corners on accuracy or defensibility

What We Are Looking For

Three to seven years of PR experience, ideally at a boutique agency or in‑house at a high‑growth technology company

A demonstrated track record of placing stories in tier‑one outlets and a network of active journalist relationships you can name

Exceptional writing that is clean, specific, and reads nothing like a press release template

The ability to manage multiple accounts across very different industries simultaneously

Genuine curiosity about technology, government, entertainment, and the confidence to explain complex ideas simply

Self‑direction: you identify the work, you own it, and you deliver without being asked twice

Experience with thought leadership programs including conferences, awards, and contributed content is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Performance bonuses tied to results

Flexible remote work environment with offices available in Austin

Direct access to senior leadership and a seat at the strategy table from day one

The chance to do the best work of your career on companies building things that matter
