Unity (NYSE: U) is dedicated to creating immersive and engaging experiences for developers, creators, and players worldwide. We’re looking for a Director, Content Strategy & Organic Marketing to lead our content function at a moment when the way people discover and consume information is fundamentally changing.
Responsibilities Build and lead a high‑output content team spanning writers, editors, and content ops—setting direction, workflows, and quality standards.
Define content strategies for integrated marketing and demand generation campaigns in close partnership with Product Marketing and Integrated Marketing.
Partner with our AI SEO specialist to translate keyword research and LLM optimization signals into a prioritized content roadmap and production plan.
Own the content production infrastructure: editorial calendars, briefing systems, review workflows, publishing pipelines, and QA standards that scale output without sacrificing quality.
Explore and implement AI tools and automation workflows (Claude, CoWork, Jasper) to increase throughput while maintaining brand voice and accuracy.
Oversee production of high‑quality content across formats—articles, eBooks, videos, webinars, social posts, and marketing collateral—in service of company goals.
Collaborate with Comms, Brand Studio, and other marketing teams to align content with key campaigns and ensure consistency across channels.
Partner with customers and industry professionals to create authentic content that highlights Unity’s features, industry use cases, ad and monetization offerings, and community engagement.
Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to leadership across Unity’s Ads, Game Development, Industry, and AI businesses.
Utilize data analytics to inform content strategy, monitor performance, and optimize engagement across platforms—providing regular reporting and insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications At least seven (7) years of experience in content marketing, with at least three (3) years in the gaming industry or a closely adjacent developer tools or prosumer SaaS environment.
Demonstrated experience building content programs at scale—repeatable systems and infrastructure in B2B and B2C, not just campaigns.
Strong understanding of demand generation and integrated marketing, with experience creating content strategy that supports pipeline goals and executes across formats.
Fluency in AI SEO and LLM optimization—enough to be a strong partner to our SEO specialist and make informed editorial decisions based on guidance.
Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals: content hierarchy, internal linking, and how content structure affects discoverability.
Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted content workflows—used automation tools and AI writing systems, and know how to apply them thoughtfully at scale.
History of leading and developing multi‑disciplinary content teams—writers, editors, strategists, and ops‑focused roles.
Strong analytical instincts—set measurable goals, track performance, and use data to make decisions about next steps.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates content depth and strategic range.
Proficiency in content management systems, SEO tools, and analytics platforms.
Possession of sufficient English proficiency for professional verbal and written communication across worldwide partners.
Compensation $198,000.00 – $297,000.00 is the anticipated base salary for this position. The final offer amount will depend on geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
