Job Summary
This position is responsible for reviewing, editing, and auditing legal opinions and other caselaw content generated through AI‑assisted processes. The role requires applying established Legal Editing Guidelines to quickly and accurately identify legal issues and determine the precedential impact to cases and statutes cited within opinion to ensure legal accuracy and proper analysis of legal precedent. The Editor/Publisher II evaluates the relationship between citing and cited authorities, determines precedential impact, and applies appropriate history and treatment letters and phrases. This role requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high‑quality work within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Analysis & Editorial Decision-Making
Analyze legal documents to identify key issues and determine precedential relationships between cases and statutes
Apply approved history and treatment letters and phrases in accordance with Legal Editing Guidelines
Content Review & Validation
Review history and treatment lettering against source material to ensure accuracy of legal issues and outcomes
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or misinterpretations in output and correct as needed
Quality & Workflow Execution
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all editorial work
Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
Verify history chains and treatment relationships using designated tools and workflows
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
Resolve complex editorial and legal analysis questions
Identify guideline ambiguities or workflow improvements and raise them through appropriate channels
Perform additional editorial or administrative tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
JD, LLB, or LLM degree
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legal precedent and editorial guidelines
Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and escalation when appropriate
Excellent reading comprehension and issue‑spotting skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
Flexibility to adapt to evolving workflows, including AI‑assisted processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
Pay Range
U.S. National Base Pay Range: $53,900 - $89,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. If performed in Colorado, the base pay range is $53,900 - $89,800. If performed in Illinois, the base pay range is $56,500 - $94,200. If performed in Chicago, IL, the base pay range is $59,300 - $98,700. If performed in Maryland, the base pay range is $56,500 - $94,200. If performed in New York, the base pay range is $59,300 - $98,700. If performed in New York City, the base pay range is $64,700 - $107,700. If performed in Rochester, NY, the base pay range is $53,900 - $89,800. If performed in New Jersey, the base pay range is $63,448 - $101,352. If performed in Ohio, the base pay range is $51,200 - $85,300. Application deadline is 08/28/2026.
