DuPont is seeking a
Production Engineer
for our
West Alexandria, OH
site, which produces Specialty Adhesives for automotive and industrial applications. This facility operates in a 24/7 environment and is governed by OHSA PSM requirements as a high-hazard site.
The Production Engineer will serve as a key member of the operations support team, providing daily technical expertise to enable safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role leads short-term troubleshooting and corrective actions while driving longer-term process improvements and optimization across Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), capacity, product quality, reliability of supply, and cost performance.
Responsibilities
Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology.
Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols
Troubleshoot operating issues to fix quality problems or improve production process.
Participate in or lead Lean events, Kaizens, 5-Why investigations, and structured problem-solving activities.
Understanding of the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures with the ability to implement in the plant.
Actively participate in EHS programs by participating in safety meetings, completing assigned EHS actions on time, addressing safety concerns, and consistently modeling and reinforcing strong safety behaviors
Understand and apply skills and knowledge in Process Control technology to ensure a safe and reliable operation
Communicates technical information and issues to plant personnel and stakeholders outside of plant.
Work with R&D and other technology subject matter experts to optimize plant performance.
Support and/or Lead execution of low-complexity CAPEX projects, including scope development, planning, engineering, installation, commissioning, start-up, and training.
Provide off-shift support for continuous operations
Required Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or related fields.
3-5 years professional technical experience
Basic understanding of automation or process control systems
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to integrate equipment, process and chemistry issues
Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, and listening skills
Results oriented/driven, good problem solving, and organizational skills
Excellent general computer skills
Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks
Requires focus on data-based decision making, initiative, objective prioritization setting, and the drive to achieve results
Preferred Qualifications
Manufacturing experience
Experience with Emerson Delta V process control system
Lean Six Sigma training (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt)
Experience using tools including SAP, TrakSys, or Power BI
Demonstrated knowledge of PSM elements such as Process Hazards Analysis, Process Safety Information, Management of Change, or PSSR
