Director, National Accounts
Director of National Accounts oversees sales of all purchased and assembled products and manages National Account Managers. The Director applies extensive product knowledge to sell to a large complex network of accounts, building relationships with account personnel including top management, buyers, operations, logistics, finance, and agency personnel. This role maximizes sales to accounts by implementing advanced business planning, forecasting, and analytical expertise while working harmoniously with internal cross‑functional teams. What You'll Do
Drive sales results while providing best‑in‑class customer service.
Expand distribution of Source for Good Foods products.
Assist supply chain in prioritization of workflow (customer order fulfillment) and review status frequently.
Conduct sales analytics; use this data plus insights, experience, and intuition to provide solutions to customer needs.
Work with the Vice President, Social Enterprise & Supply Chain Solutions in sales budget development and track/reports actual results against that budget.
Direct National Account Managers by providing training, planning, workflow assignment, setting/completing annual performance goals/reviews, resolving issues promptly, and rewarding/disciplining staff appropriately.
Develop and/or approve all trade‑based promotions and communications and ensure marketing/promotions are communicated to customers in a timely manner.
Work with the Director, Social Enterprise Operations and Director, Supplier Management to provide information on trends, customer requests, and proper inventory levels.
Manage and sell-through close‑dated Source For Good Foods inventory at all warehouse locations.
Communicate sales priorities with National Account Managers and track/reports monthly status updates to the team.
Create and present business updates at weekly staff meetings, quarterly Source For Good Foods Committee meetings, and on occasion, updates to the Leadership Team and/or Townhall meetings when asked.
Remain current on trends within the network as well as the external competitive environment.
Understand business implications of decisions and the impact to Net Revenue; align work to the strategic goals of the organization.
Set up and staff supplier booth at Feeding America conferences to promote Source For Good Foods capabilities.
Other tasks as assigned.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Travel
Occasional daytime and nighttime travel required, up to 20% of the work week within the U.S.
Essential Business / First Responder
In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, Second Harvest is typically considered an essential business service and emergency responder. All employees may be required to perform regular or emergent duties on‑site. Employee safety is balanced with business and community necessity. Some positions are more likely to be required on‑site than others.
What You'll Bring
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of sales background, including supervisory experience, is required. Experience in food sales preferred.
Skills & Capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Able to learn new databases and software.
