Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Analytics, the Director, Strategic Analytics is responsible for applying advanced analytics to Planet Fitness' highest-priority strategic initiatives. This role partners closely with executive leadership to evaluate business opportunities, optimize pricing and promotion strategies, measure strategic initiatives, and deliver data-driven recommendations that support enterprise decision-making.

As a key member of the Enterprise Analytics team, the Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by translating complex business challenges into analytical solutions. This role leads strategic analyses, develops business cases, designs experiments, and delivers actionable insights that improve business performance, support innovation, and drive long-term growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive decision-making through data.

This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires regular, in-person work at our Boston, MA or Hampton, NH office. Our hybrid model is M/T/W in office and TH/F are optional work-from-home. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of these locations. Fully remote work is not available for this role.

Responsibilities
Strategic Analytics & Business Partnership

Partners with executive leadership to identify opportunities where analytics can create business value and improve strategic decision-making.

Translates complex business questions into analytical approaches that provide actionable insights and recommendations.

Leads strategic analyses supporting enterprise initiatives, business planning, and long-term growth opportunities.

Develops business cases, financial models, and cost-benefit analyses that evaluate strategic alternatives and investment decisions.

Pricing & Business Performance

Leads pricing analytics initiatives by evaluating pricing strategies, elasticity, promotional effectiveness, and revenue optimization opportunities.

Designs, executes, and evaluates analytical tests related to pricing, marketing, new products, and other strategic business initiatives.

Measures business outcomes and identifies opportunities to improve profitability, operational performance, and member value.

Supports executive decision-making through forecasting, scenario planning, and performance analysis.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

Develops and maintains executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting that provide meaningful insights into business trends.

Identifies, defines, and standardizes key performance indicators that support enterprise decision-making.

Delivers executive-ready reporting and presentations that communicate analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner.

Partners with Enterprise Analytics and business leaders to improve reporting consistency, measurement methodologies, and analytics adoption.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative field, Master's preferred

7+ years of progressive experience in strategic analytics, business analytics, business intelligence, corporate strategy, management consulting, finance, or related disciplines

5+ years of experience leading complex analytics initiatives and partnering with senior business leaders to solve strategic business challenges

Demonstrated success applying analytics to support executive decision-making, strategic planning, and enterprise business initiatives

Experience evaluating pricing strategies, business performance, new products, marketing initiatives, and other strategic opportunities through data-driven analysis and experimentation

Proven ability to design, execute, and evaluate analytical tests, business cases, forecasting models, scenario analyses, and cost-benefit analyses that drive business value

Experience developing KPI frameworks, executive dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting that provide meaningful insights into business performance and strategic priorities

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience translating large, complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations for executive audiences

Expertise in analytics, visualization, and data platforms including Snowflake, SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and analytics tools

Experience working with cross-functional business leaders to identify opportunities where analytics can improve business performance, optimize investments, and support long-term growth

Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Exceptional presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executives

Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally

Creative, progressive, thought leadership with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

Excellent leadership and people management skills including the ability to build, motivate, guide, and mentor teams to achieve ambitious goals

Possess a results-driven entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating initiative and creativity

Demonstrated strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and organizational leadership skills
