Job Description
Lead the company’s procurement strategy to strengthen competitive advantage across AFNA Operations, plants, and business units. Oversee key procurement categories, including BOPET Films, driving measurable value through cost optimization, innovation, quality enhancement, service excellence, and risk management. Deliver sustainable business results by building and expanding procurement’s strategic contribution to the organization. Champion procurement priorities in Innovation and Simplification by enabling and sourcing innovative solutions, while standardizing and consolidating supply strategies across the AFNA business to improve efficiency and long-term value creation.
Key Job Accountabilities
Strategy Development and Strategy Implementation
Responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive, business-aligned long-term Category Strategy for BOPET Film across the region, aligned with the global strategy and business objectives.
Responsible for the overall delivery of the category targets following the target setting process.
Ensure delivery against the Procurement Balanced Scorecard measures for the category.
Consolidate supplier, market, category and internal business data and information to inform the Category Strategy.
Communicate the final Category Strategy and Annual Category Plans to relevant stakeholders in the region.
Manage regional implementation of sourcing events (RFI/RFQ/eAuctions) and strategic projects.
Ensure the resources, information and tools are in place for project execution throughout the category.
Define and measure key performance indicators for key suppliers in the category, aligned to the Amcor Supplier Performance Management Framework.
Lead innovation with strategic category suppliers.
Ensure robust contractual arrangements are in place for the category.
Monitor compliance and adherence to Amcor Procurement policies and procedures.
Ensure internal issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide input to Amcor’s acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence and integration activities relevant to the category.
ESG
Lead the monitoring and reporting of GHG emissions data from suppliers in alignment with the BOPET Film GHG and Procurement excellence team.
Foster partnerships with suppliers to secure and source raw materials with higher recycled content and/or lower CO2 footprint.
Ensure procurement strategies align with internal and customer targets for recycled content and carbon reductions.
Lead initiatives to enhance Amcor’s sustainability performance in the supply chain.
Negotiation
Own key regional supplier relationships for the assigned categories; lead supplier segmentation and performance management.
Build strong relationships with key suppliers and regional contacts to negotiate innovative and beneficial contractual agreements and service levels.
Manage the negotiation process, content and results. Lead the negotiation team to define desired outcomes.
Relationship Management
Identify stakeholders; understand and interpret their current and future needs, and manage expectations.
Collaborate closely with relevant departments to ensure understanding and compliance with key procurement strategies and policies.
Serve as the key interface between Global Category Lead, regional procurement, R&D, and business stakeholders in the region.
Facilitate regional qualifications, transitions, and material changes.
Financial Planning
Responsible for the bottom-up aggregation of all category data across Business Group to inform the top-down target setting process.
Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and actively contribute to budget planning and cost forecasting.
Ensure robust contract coverage and track adherence to agreed terms.
Reconcile gaps between bottom-up and top-down targets and identify initiatives required to close disparities.
Ensure that financial resource allocation is cost‑effective and aligned with strategic and operational plans.
Build an accurate forecast for category price movements.
Reporting
Provide periodic and ad‑hoc reporting and forecasting on performance against plan and potential, following up on KPIs and reporting on trends.
Qualifications / Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a scientific/technical field required. Strong preference for CIPS or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related commercial or operational roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience contributing within matrixed and/or multinational organizations, collaborating across functions, regions, and cultures. Working experience in procurement or commercial disciplines such as category management, supplier management, contract negotiation, or cost/value analysis. Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives or workstreams, influence stakeholders, and support change initiatives without requiring direct line authority. Solid communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate with moderate supervision.
Professional Expertise: In-depth industry knowledge and market insights within the BOPET Film sectors.
