Relationship Manager - Business Banking - Grayslake, IL

State Bank of the Lakes is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Business Banking Relationship Manager to serve the Lake County, IL market. This role supports small to mid‑sized businesses with revenues up to $30 million.
Responsibilities

Develop new business through referral sources and cold‑calling efforts.
Achieve annual goals tied to loan and deposit volume, cross‑sales, call planning/prospecting, and fee income generation.
Grow and manage customer relationships with businesses that generally have up to $30 million in revenue.
Nurture and develop an existing portfolio by assessing and meeting clients’ business and personal needs.
Negotiate proper loan structure and effectively cross‑sell products.
Maintain properly documented files and manage renewals and collection efforts on past‑due and defaulted loans.
Build and manage a professional network of COIs and referral sources.
Maintain a stable network of prospective customers with a consistent approach to calling.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
Completion of a formal credit training program preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years combined experience in commercial credit and lending.
Prior B2B, small‑business banking, or consultative outside‑sales experience within the financial services industry.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish client relationships.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow.
