Job Overview
Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Operations Technician Lead – mentor a team of focused technicians, maximize equipment reliability and availability, and drive safety improvements.
Responsibilities
Perform high‑level maintenance and operational tasks with natural gas process‑related equipment and systems.
Mentor and train less experienced operators and technicians.
Minimize unplanned shutdowns through root cause analysis and corrective actions that improve safety.
Partner with supervisors and managers to share findings, root causes, and resolutions.
Fix and maintain process control systems.
Collaborate with project managers to define project scope and instrumentation specifications for new projects.
Support additional tasks as assigned, strengthening team success.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum six (6) years progressive experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Aptitude for embracing technology to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as the utmost priority.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
Preferred
Associate or 2‑year technical degree and minimum six (6) years progressive experience in operations, engineering, or the energy industry.
Previous experience in gas‑plant operations, gas compression, or liquid/gas gathering processes.
Experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or maintenance industry.
Work Environment & Schedule
Work in extreme temperatures, loud environments, and enclosed spaces.
Carry or lift up to 50 lbs and perform team‑lift loads greater than 50 lbs.
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat frequently.
Work at elevated levels (man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or small towers) with appropriate PPE.
Use hand tools.
Available after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
May be required to work overtime, 10–12 hour shifts, and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
