Job Overview

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join a fast‑paced team at Agile Defense. The employee will provide computer‑generated graphics and creative consultation to develop original artwork, visual aids and typographic layouts for print media, digital displays and web products. The role demands high proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, and Mac platform expertise.
Responsibilities

Create graphics for websites, social media, digital displays (e.g., TV monitors), and printed products in formats such as JPG and PDF.
Provide creative consultation and production services for publications including annual reports, multi‑color brochures, posters, PowerPoint presentations, charts, program booklets, conference collateral, courtroom exhibits, special events, educational programs, standard forms, award certificates, mail‑merge documents, and other graphic art‑related print and web products.
Perform pre‑press and post‑print production, preparing print‑ready files for commercial vendors, ensuring RGB‑to‑CMYK conversion, minimum 300‑dpi resolution, proper 1/4‑inch bleeds, font conflict resolution, and clean packaging.
Use client‑provided hardware and software to produce print, digital, and web products, including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and MS Office Suite.
Maintain a digital portfolio of work.
Participate in the production of advertising, public relations, outreach and marketing collateral, managing creative projects from concept to completion.
Perform quality assurance checks and replicate film, custom illustrations, blue lines, and match prints for print production.
Required Skills & Qualifications

7+ years of professional experience in graphic design or publishing.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional) and MS Office (PowerPoint).
Advanced proficiency in graphic design practices and industry‑standard software.
Basic proofreading skills.
Understanding of printing parameters, composition, format, paper type, and printer instructions.
Ability to create innovative designs and visual styles for print and web.
Capability to produce visual representations for complex financial and technical concepts.
Ability to advise on media, formats and reproduction methods.
Experience creating 508‑compliant web files from PDFs and other documents.
Strong Mac platform mastery.
Project management, multitasking, deadline adherence, and willingness to work beyond normal hours and holidays.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Aesthetic Direction

Contemporary, modern style – no 2D drop shadows, embossing, or dated lettering effects.
More photo manipulation than vector graphics.
Clean, academic, prestigious tone.
Good use of negative space (“do more with less”).
Portfolio must show range across long‑form print/report design and digital assets such as social media graphics and digital banners.
Bonus Skills

Photo editing – cutting out subjects, cleanup, export.
Experience with AI‑generated imagery.
Working Conditions

On‑site in Washington, D.C. 5 times a week, working regular business hours.
