Lead Writer, First Thing Newsletter — Hybrid/Remote

The Guardian US is seeking a Lead Writer for our flagship US newsletter, First Thing. This role requires a skilled stylist with a global perspective and excellent news judgment to develop a distinctive voice for the newsletter and build a following in a crowded landscape.
The ideal candidate has a strong news reporting background with clips that demonstrate clear, accessible and personality-driven writing, and is comfortable with US and international affairs.
