Job Summary

PODS is seeking a growth-oriented Product Manager to deliver product and service revenue targets both centrally and as supplemental to the core PODS moving and storage offering. The right candidate will be motivated by revenue generation and charged with designing, managing, and delivering products and services that align with customer and operational needs. This role will work cross-functionally with the sales, media, brand, revenue management, digital, and operations teams to coordinate and drive awareness, conversion, revenue growth, and product development for new and existing product lines and ancillary services. The right candidate will oversee a multi-million-dollar product portfolio and manage products and services within the ancillary revenue, fee, and core storage product categories.
Core Focus Areas

Grow PODS awareness and penetration in the self-storage (non-move) usage segment; develop new product offerings that disrupt traditional self-storage options
Drive operational efficiencies through policy development, improved customer education, and ancillary fee monetization
Own and manage PODS’ contents protection product line
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with operations to identify new fee opportunities to improve routing optimization and monetize customer-driven inefficiencies; align service policies with operational efficiencies
Architect the internal and external end-to-end user journey across customer-facing and back-end systems to support new policy and ancillary fee development
Develop new and enhance existing internal and external communications and education of PODS policies and procedures
Design and own GTM strategy of new product offerings targeting the self-storage usage segment; educate internal and external customers of new product offerings and elevate self-storage demand and conversion
Own and manage PODS’ Contents Protection product line
Identify incremental revenue opportunities across new and existing product/service lines
Develop, test, and launch new moving and storage ancillary products and services
Work cross-functionally to identify and evaluate opportunities, develop marketing strategies, build financial models, and create sales and marketing tools to support go-to-market products and services
Train sales and service center associates and driver teams on products, services, and initiatives; run and support contests to drive awareness and sell-through of ancillary products and new product offerings
Analyze and measure data; perform frequent ad-hoc analysis to measure performance and gauge results
Report on results and revenue performance monthly, quarterly, and annually to internal marketing stakeholders and senior leaders across the company
Continuously research the moving and storage innovation landscape and new ancillary product opportunities
Ensure legal compliance for customer-facing and employee training for owned products and services. Develop internal education/training & SOPs on relevant product, service, and policies
Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to VP, Product Marketing.
NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or engineering required; MBA or related graduate degree preferred.
At least 4 years prior marketing and product development or product management experience required; Service product and insurance product experience a plus.
Ability to use statistical tools and analyze/interpret data; understand data and turn it into a compelling story.
Experience in survey tools such as Medallia or Survey Monkey.
Ability to research and analyze micro & macro trends through publications such as US Census and IBIS (or similar) data sources.
Business planning skills including demand modeling, unit and fixed revenue and cost estimating, and price sensitivity analysis.
Strong proficiency with MS Office products required. Must possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties; semi-advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor.
Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; Ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.
Travel requirements: Minimal, approximately up to 5%.
Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
Regular attendance and punctuality required.
May be subject to pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy.
