Seeking a full-time Social Media Editor, this role will create engaging content for Yahoo Finance across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, following a Wednesday-Sunday schedule and requiring independent motivation to produce impactful social media posts during weekends.
Key responsibilities:
Pitch, produce, and post social media content, including short-form vertical videos and graphics related to news and personal finance
Edit and adapt existing Yahoo Finance videos and articles into social-friendly formats
Create timely reactionary content for breaking news and live events, connecting Yahoo Finance to trending social conversations
Required qualifications:
2+ years of experience creating social content for a journalism or media outlet
Deep understanding of social media platforms and experience producing engaging content across major platforms
Proficiency in video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut, as well as graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop or Canva
Strong news judgment and ability to write clear, concise social copy
Familiarity with business, markets, and personal finance
