Overview
The Sr. Field SMB Business Development Manager serves as Lenovo SMB's senior market representative within their assigned geography. This individual functions as a strategic business leader responsible for accelerating growth, strengthening executive customer relationships, expanding Lenovo's market presence, and enabling successful execution of strategic business initiatives. This role combines executive engagement, business development leadership, sales acceleration, channel influence, community presence, and regional market strategy. The successful candidate works closely with sales leadership, channel leadership, and executive stakeholders to drive regional performance while creating long‑term market differentiation for Lenovo.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Opportunity Leadership

Engage on the largest and most strategic opportunities across SMB.

Build executive relationships with customer decision makers and business leaders.

Assist regional leadership with opportunity reviews, account strategies, and growth plans.

Drive coordination across Lenovo teams to accelerate revenue growth and improve win rates.

Serve as a senior escalation and executive engagement resource.

Regional Growth Strategy

Develop and execute regional market development strategies.

Align customer, partner, marketing, and community engagement efforts.

Identify new market opportunities and growth segments.

Provide leadership insight regarding regional business performance and competitive dynamics.

Executive Customer Engagement

Establish trusted advisor relationships with business owners, executives, and regional influencers.

Conduct executive briefings and strategic customer engagements.

Represent Lenovo at customer advisory councils, executive events, and key conferences.

Community & Industry Leadership

Maintain active involvement in Chambers of Commerce, Small Business Associations, Economic Development Organizations, Technology Councils, and industry and trade groups.

Host Lenovo‑sponsored business networking events.

Increase Lenovo SMB brand awareness within the regional business community.

Build relationships that create measurable business opportunities.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Channel, Retail, eCommerce, Services, and Operations organizations.

Mentor and support regional sales teams.

Share market intelligence and customer feedback with executive leadership.

Lead special projects and market expansion initiatives.

Operational Excellence

Support accurate forecasting and business planning.

Track opportunity progression and strategic account activity.

Utilize CRM and reporting systems to maintain business visibility and execution rigor.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

8+ years of technology sales, business development, market development, channel, or executive customer‑facing experience.

Proven record of business growth and relationship development.

Demonstrated success engaging C‑suite executives and business owners.

Strong executive presence and communication skills.

Ability to influence across matrixed organizations.

Willingness to travel up to 60%.

Preferred Qualifications

SMB or Mid‑Market technology sales leadership experience.

Experience leading complex opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.

Channel, Retail, and eCommerce go‑to‑market experience.

Strong public speaking and event leadership experience.

Existing relationships within regional business communities.

Experience representing organizations at conferences and industry events.

Proven ability to influence without direct authority.

Strong business, financial, and operational acumen.
