Position Overview The Impact & Prosperity Epicenter team seeks an experienced, energetic, independent, and detail‑oriented Communications Manager to spread the word about the new, first‑of‑its‑kind residential community known as the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter. The Communications Manager will lead marketing and communications, design, coordinate, and execute campaigns across physical marketing materials, website, social media, newsletters, and awareness‑raising initiatives. Candidates must be proficient in writing, design, project management, and use judgment and interpersonal skills to execute marketing strategies. Candidates must be adaptable to an evolving organizational structure and capable of utilizing traditional and electronic publishing technologies.
Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan reaching students, campus partners, and off‑campus stakeholders.
Create marketing/communication materials from concept to execution across social media, printed flyers, website content, and newsletters.
Communicate department information on various projects to stakeholders—internal and external.
Monitor the effectiveness of marketing tactics and adjust plans as necessary.
Collaborate with Epicenter owners to develop, track, achieve, and report on short‑ and long‑term goals.
Review and provide feedback on marketing materials and events.
Support the Sales team in developing outreach materials for housing application process and recruitment opportunities (e.g., tabling).
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor student marketing interns and ambassadors, guiding content creation, event promotion, and community engagement initiatives.
Coordinate with Epicenter Centers (Sorenson Impact Institute, Center for Business, Health and Prosperity) as “clients” to market their needs.
Work with marketing leadership to develop compelling stories highlighting residents, student experiences, speakers, programs, and outcomes through written, visual, and multimedia content.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of related work experience (e.g., bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Senior Supervisor, Marketing Communications Management: bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) + 4 years or master’s degree + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Manager, Marketing Communications Management: bachelor’s degree + 6 years or master’s degree + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or related field.
Three to five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, or related field.
Experience developing and executing multi‑channel marketing and communications campaigns.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, tailoring messaging to various audiences.
Experience creating content for websites, social media platforms, email newsletters, and print materials.
Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
Strong project management skills managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Attention to detail, including editing and proofreading communications materials.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
