Job Summary
Supports the promotion and visibility of FIU Athletics by providing play-by-play commentary, producing digital and broadcast content, and creating engaging multimedia coverage across television, streaming, social media, and FIUSports.com.

Responsibilities

Serves as play-by-play commentator on radio, TV, and streaming, and assists with live productions

Generates, updates, and maintains publicity through new media, creating an online following to promote intercollegiate athletics

Serves as the intercollegiate athletic department’s reporter, gathering information through interviews

Performs other related duties as assigned or directed; the omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties logically related to the position

Evaluates news leads to develop story ideas that can be published on FIUSports.com and through FIU Social Media channels

Assists the Athletic Director of Live Productions with producing content usable on multiple platforms, including live broadcasts and social media

Must work at least 75% of FIU Athletic Broadcasted events

May supervise student workers, volunteers, and temporary employees in the Live Productions Department

Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules and policies pertaining to the position. Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and monitors any subordinate regarding NCAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience; OR a Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; OR six (6) years of appropriate experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Departmental Requirements
Previous experience working in an Athletics Department.
