General Description


SUNY Niagara has a need for a part‑time instructor to teach a Public Relations course in the Communication Studies department. Classes are held on the main Sanborn campus. Remuneration: $960 per lecture hour / $860 per lab hour.


Typical Work Activities



  • Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon

  • Track attendance as needed

  • Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester

  • Report grades at the conclusion of the semester


Essential Functions


Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population; effectively communicate with students, co‑workers, supervisors, and the campus community; develop, prepare and present information; operate computers; and physically perform the duties of the position.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, or related field

  • Demonstrated evidence of knowledge and experience (educational and/or professional) in the public relations field


Desirable Qualifications



  • Master’s degree or terminal degree in Communication, Public Relations, or related area

  • Demonstrated evidence of knowledge of the public relations field and experience administering public relations campaigns

  • Experience teaching college‑level courses

  • Experience with instructional technology and teaching in virtual formats
