Dallas International University (DIU) is a Christian university focused on preparing global leaders to partner with local communities.
Responsibilities
Program the Billing biannually prior to each Open Enrollment window.
Bill and invoice students in accordance with each student’s unique Financial Aid awards prior to the start of each academic term.
Assist students in establishing payment plans as needed; monitor and remind as needed.
Process and document payments received in response to DIU student invoicing.
Review Student Accounts at least bi-annually (Fall & Spring) for aging balances & reconcile or update communication & documentation according to the review findings.
Prepare 1098-T tax forms annually (October through January) in accordance with IRS regulations (DIU partners with ECSI in this process).
Report income and financial aid actuals to Controller & Dean of Students as needed.
Monitor and update the content of DIU web pages pertaining to Student Finances.
Alert the Dean of Students if student financial interactions warrant Student-Life check-ins.
Communicate effectively and document responsibly in response to inquiries received; respond timely and graciously to student inquiries and to internal/external inquiries from those with a legitimate education-related financial interest in a student account.
Collaborate with the Controller to complete additional Finance department responsibilities as requested (e.g., updating accounting systems/databases, annual unclaimed property report, mobile depositing of checks).
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Accounting experience not required, but helpful
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and office equipment
Ability to learn new software
Confidentiality

Eagerness to increase efficiency in procedures
Hours
Part-time, 20 hours per week. Normal office hours are 8 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Work schedule can be determined with supervisor.
Physical Requirements
Decent physical health is required for consistent daily work in the office to ensure smooth and consistent billing practices.
