Internal Communication Director (#013533) Communications, Columbia (RICHLAND)

Job Responsibilities

Creates and leads internal communications for the agency.

Writes, maintains, and distributes internal newsletter and daily news roundup.

Maintains and implements content calendar for internal communications and social media strategy.

Writes, develops, and maintains content for the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) website and social media platforms.

Coordinates with wardens and staff at SCDC's 21 prisons and writes articles about programming, rehabilitative efforts, and other events.

Creates information for marketing campaigns, press releases and events.

Assists in writing press releases, video/photo editing, and creating content for internal television communications.

Assists in monitoring social media platforms and responds to external media when needed.

Qualifications

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications, public relations or another closely related field and five (5) years of experience in internal communications.
