Overview Systems, Marketing, & Communications Coordinator position supports the promotion, coordination, and delivery of Career Services resources, programs, and initiatives at Northern Virginia Community College. The role enhances student career development and employer engagement through management of Career Services technologies, strategic communications, marketing, and outreach activities.
Responsibilities Coordinate the implementation, management, and maintenance of the Career Services Management System, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of records, resources, data, and system activity.
Promote Career Services programs, events, resources, and services through strategic outreach, marketing, and communication efforts to students, faculty, staff, and employer partners.
Manage and maintain Career Services social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), and create/distribute the monthly Career Services newsletter and other promotional materials.
Develop and disseminate marketing materials, promotional videos, website content, email communications, and event information through College media outlets and campus channels.
Provide accurate and timely information regarding career events, programs, and Career Services resources to students, faculty, and staff.
Host and facilitate information sessions, presentations, and workshops, and respond professionally to inquiries via email, phone, and other communications.
Coordinate and support special projects, grants, departmental initiatives, and additional assignments that align with College priorities and student success goals.
Contribute to presentations, workshops, and initiatives designed to enhance student success, career readiness, and stakeholder engagement while supporting the College’s mission and strategic goals.
Qualifications KSAs: Ability to coordinate the Career Services Management System, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and effective user support for students, faculty, and staff.
KSAs: Ability to implement and utilize marketing and communication tools (CSMS, email campaigns, social media, digital engagement) to promote programs and resources.
KSAs: Ability to create, develop, and disseminate marketing and communication materials (newsletters, brochures, presentations, website content, emails, social media, videos) across multiple platforms.
KSAs: Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, community organizations, and employer partners in the Northern Virginia region.
KSAs: Strong oral and written communication; experience facilitating presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
KSAs: Ability to provide accurate, timely, and professional customer service to diverse constituent groups.
KSAs: Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet diverse needs.
KSAs: Attention to detail; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, contributing effectively in teams.
KSAs: Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience coordinating projects, programs, events, or communications initiatives.
Experience using career services management systems, CRM platforms, or similar databases, including system management, troubleshooting, and data accuracy.
Experience developing and implementing marketing and outreach materials (email campaigns, newsletters, website content, social media, digital communications).
Experience in photography, video creation, and video editing for marketing and engagement purposes.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Considerations Experience with Handshake career management system.
Experience with grant applications, data collection, and implementation.
Travel & Work Arrangements Required travel may be between NOVA campuses. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs.
