Overview Responsible for leading and operationalizing teams that profitably deliver work within a portfolio of accounts.
Understands agency revenue and profitability model; ensures work is completed within budget; owns the revenue and forecast for the brand; determines and negotiates budget needs.
Keeps management informed of account status, problems, plans and meetings, including senior management as needed.
Has a thorough understanding of industry business trends.
Ensures tactical and strategic integrity and trains the account team in this regard.
Responsible for the development of ongoing business on their accounts and identifying new business development opportunities (organic growth).
Engages with senior level clients and continues an ongoing relationship development.
Identifies and proactively responds to needs that arise as well as lead longer term planning; possesses a good foundation of knowledge of the category to interpret market research data into brand ideas.
Trains, develops, and appropriately delegates to account team – encouraging growth and development of junior account management team.
Ensures appropriate resource allocation and utilization across all departments.
Manages tactical plan and SOW.
Client Partnership & Business Development Responsible for client relationships at all levels, engaging with senior level clients, identifying new ways to strengthen relationships.
Monitors and evaluates the competitive landscape to provide senior level strategic insights.
Mines new, organic business opportunities with existing clients, building relationships across the client’s organization and key industry partners.
Establishes strategic partnership with clients, ensuring agency POV is shared and delivered effectively.
Identifies and solidifies client relationships beyond the day‑to‑day project owners.
Partners with clients to identify and strategize new project details and develop briefs.
Oversees regular client status meetings, communicating project development and maintaining alignment with client objectives.
Informs client on aspects and timing of project development, including internal agency process/requirements.
Oversees all agency communications with client stakeholders and extended team members to drive project execution (e.g., MLR team, medical/marketing reviewers, partner agencies, KOLs).
Participates in and leads new business pitches.
Internal Account Management Team leader – provides clear and fair direction and feedback.
Assures right team members/departments are pulled into appropriate projects/workstreams at the right time.
Engages in strategic development, establishing communication objectives and strategies to drive the brands forward.
Oversees brand strategy, ensuring it is pulled through into all workstreams; owns and communicates to the extended internal team.
Networks and partners with other agency leaders within the Omnicom network, identifying ways to partner together.
Develops marketing strategy and tactical plans, including budgets and timelines.
Communicates project and brand updates to team promptly, including client shifts that may impact resource requirements.
Leads role in ensuring timely, accurate client documentation & correspondence of all Account team members.
Sets priorities for the team while handling multiple projects and delegating work appropriately.
Monitors overall workload to improve efficiency, minimizing waiting or downtime.
Keeps department head apprised of workload challenges/concerns on assigned team accounts that may necessitate hiring freelancers or FTEs.
Monitors, reviews and approves direct report’s time sheets regarding hours worked on specific jobs.
Manages direct report(s) workloads and PTO to ensure clients and internal teams have proper Account team support and coverage.
Provides constructive and direct ongoing feedback to direct reports.
Evaluates performance of direct reports and completes performance reviews.
Financial Management Develops annual tactical plans and oversees new SOW development throughout the year.
Forecasts budgets and maintains accurate phasing.
Develops and administers clients’ budgets based on accurate estimating and tracking of hours, and reconciliation against estimates. Continuously monitors clients’ budgets and raises client awareness when changes impact scope.
Meets with agency leadership regularly to keep apprised of financial status of accounts.
Agency Operations Take on wider, formal and informal leadership responsibilities within the agency.
Proactively provides suggestions to impact agency policy and operations and enhance the overall work environment.
Drives the process and details of day‑to‑day operations of the accounts.
Works with other department heads to recommend adjustments/additions to roles and responsibilities of departments to achieve continuous improvement and efficiency across accounts.
Interviews, identifies, trains and orients new team members to the agency, department, and account(s) at the direction of department head.
Provides ongoing guidance to all team members and available as a resource for account/agency/departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications 7+ years of relevant experience in healthcare marketing.
2 years of supervisory experience.
Strong engaging leadership presence that comes across equally strong in person, over the phone and through writing.
Builds and fosters strong, collaborative relationships.
Strong business judgment and decision-making.
Self-starter who is collaborative and works well in an agile, fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to work across multiple high-profile and high-budget programs at once, in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary range: $143,000 - $199,500
Employees are required to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in‑office days are directed by their agency or manager. The requirement may increase over time, and many agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in‑office attendance.
