Audition: Local Actor for Post-Electric Play Mr. Burns

Overview

The company is holding auditions for Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play by Anne Washburn. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED.
About the project: After the collapse of civilization, a group of survivors piece together the plot of The Simpsons episode “Cape Feare” from memory. Seventy-five years later, pop culture snippets become the basis of new performance forms in a post-apocalyptic society.
Audition Requirements

Please prepare a two-minute contemporary comedic monologue. Although this is a play with music, there will be no singing at initial auditions. Singing will be included in callbacks.

Schedule

Callbacks: Saturday, August 15, 2026, 1 PM – 2 PM (By Invite Only)
First Rehearsal: Sunday, December 6, 2026
Rehearsals: Sundays 6 PM – 9 PM; Mondays through Thursdays 7 PM – 10 PM
Q2Q (mandatory): Sunday, January 17, 2027, 12 PM – 10 PM
Tech Week (mandatory): Monday, January 18, 2026 through 20, 2027; 6 – 11 PM
Performances: January 21, 2027 through February 14, 2027 (Wednesdays through Sundays)
Performance times: Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 PM; Sundays at 3 PM
Call time is typically 7 PM or 2 PM
Compensation and Perks

A $15 meal reimbursement will be provided for rehearsal and performance days to which the actor is called, up to a total of $500.
