Chevron Stations Inc. is seeking a Full‑Time Assistant Station Manager at Chevron Gas Station CSI #1708, 5300 Mowry Ave, Fremont, CA 94538.

Job Summary
We are looking for hard‑working, safety‑oriented individuals who enjoy teamwork and maintain a positive work attitude. The Assistant Station Manager (ASM) assists the Station Manager (SM) in managing the retail facility to meet and exceed performance and profit goals. Responsibilities include safety compliance, employee direction, customer service, inventory control, cash handling, and overall station operations. The ASM role models Chevron’s core values of safety, diversity, inclusion, integrity, and trust.

Responsibilities

Assist the Station Manager with day‑to‑day operations.

Maintain oversight of station operations and staff in the SM’s absence.

Provide work direction, motivation, and coaching to staff during shifts.

Support and adhere to safety, security, and quality guidelines, responding promptly to incidents.

Ensure compliance with wage & hour requirements, cash handling, and loss‑prevention processes.

Maintain courteous, professional contact with co‑workers, customers, vendors, and the community.

Perform Customer Service Representative duties as needed.

Assist with product inventory management and coordinate with other stations to minimize out‑of‑stocks.

Operate, clean, and maintain food service equipment; train CSRs as needed.

Use computer programs to support daily operations and complete administrative tasks.

People Management

Ensure staff understand and comply with wage & hour guidelines.

Model core values of safety, diversity, inclusion, integrity, and trust.

Required Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a fast‑paced retail, food service, or fuel environment with cash handling and customer service.

Demonstrated experience operating a cash register, computer console, and related equipment.

Knowledge of sanitation and safety requirements for food storage and service.

Availability to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.

Strong multitasking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Travel

Rare; limited to required training or coverage for nearby stations.

Physical Demands

Walking, standing, reaching, grasping, and pushing–pulling throughout the shift.

Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 lbs continuously; up to 35 lbs occasionally.

Work with high‑temperature equipment safely.

Exposure to outdoor conditions, cleaning supplies, salt, and chemicals.

Occasional exposure to walk‑in coolers at 34°F.

Minimum age 18 in California, Oregon, or Washington; 21 for graveyard shift (10 pm–6 am) with a $1.25 per hour shift differential.

USA‑based position; visas not granted.
