Job Summary
Account Managers perform routine responsibilities and serve as primary points of contact for the client accounts they oversee. They are individual contributors with occasional guidance or direct supervision. Account managers apply the principles of insurance to everyday situations, perform routine tasks, and can develop coverage strategies and plans.

Responsibilities

Service accounts, including processing account transactions such as quotes, issuing policies, ID cards, proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow‑up, and correspondence.

Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests in a timely manner.

Engage in insurance marketing and sales activities.

Collect renewal data on assigned accounts.

Provide claims support.

Develop coverage strategies and plans as needed.

Review new or renewal policies and endorsements to ensure items were received as ordered.

Maintain accuracy of client data in the agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC).

Document all activities in the agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC).

Utilize upload, download, and interface technologies.

Assist other departments in securing or providing information necessary to issue appropriate policies for mutual clients.

Keep producers informed of all important account activities, including potential problems and management updates.

Stay current with industry trends, participating in educational seminars and classes to improve insurance and sales skills and maintain license compliance.

Maintain knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers.

Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes to those provisions.

Complete additional functions and assignments as assigned, including backup duties.

Requirements

Active Property & Casualty license required.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to discern priority and initiative.

Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong people skills.

Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions, and handle a variety of variables presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Experience with Applied Systems / EPIC is a plus.

Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of insurance to everyday situations.

Education and Experience

High school diploma required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines.

CPCU or special training course completion is a plus.

Pay Details
The base compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
