Director of Design, Core Transfer Experience

Director of Design – Remitly Remitly is a digital financial services provider for immigrants and their families worldwide.
Responsibilities Own the end‑to‑end customer experience across Core Transfer Experience and maintain a coherent, trustworthy experience across all surfaces.
Partner with the Director of Product to shape features, defining how they feel, flow, and hold together for the customer.
Build and grow a high‑performing team of product designers, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging.
Coach and develop design leaders in creative thinking, prioritization, dependency management, and ambiguity navigation.
Advance AI‑native design practices to increase velocity while sustaining high craft standards.
Drive customer research and synthesis, turning insight into design decisions with clear, measurable outcomes.
Maintain an effective, predictable design organization with healthy throughput, measurable goals, and deliverable outcomes.
Collaborate across product lines and with the design system function to deliver a unified experience.
Qualifications 10+ years of product design experience, including 4+ years managing diverse design teams.
Proven ability to oversee and produce UX deliverables such as wireframes, customer journeys, concepts, and information design.
Deep expertise in interface design, research, and new product development with a bias for rapid, research‑informed iteration.
Track record of designing world‑class mobile experiences (native apps and responsive web).
Experience holding quality across multiple surfaces or channels.
Strong relationship‑building and communication skills, both internally and externally.
Outstanding portfolio demonstrating customer‑focused product leadership.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Preferred Experience designing in fintech or another regulated, trust‑critical domain.
Experience designing for a global, multi‑market, localized customer base.
Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $200,000 – $250,000 (U.S.).
