Responsibilities

Engage in advocacy with U.S. federal stakeholders to drive policy outcomes enabling GM’s business strategy

Serve as an advisor to the GPP Vice President and Federal Affairs leadership team

Represent GPP’s perspective on urgent and emerging issues in internal and external forums

Advise on automotive technology related policy issues and opportunities for optimization

Contribute to cross‑functional policy coordination processes

Help shape strategic policy priorities, support advocacy and narratives

Monitor and analyze federal legislation, regulations, and trends impacting GM

Communicate and socialize legislation with internal stakeholders

Develop understanding of GM business goals and priorities in relation to policy trends

Requirements

12+ years’ experience in U.S. federal public policy and/or advocacy

Policy‑making experience before the Energy and Commerce and Senate Commerce Committees

Networks and relationships with relevant U.S. policy stakeholders and organizations

Understanding of nuances of technology policy issues, trends, risks, and opportunities for major companies like GM

Experience in advocacy shaping U.S. automotive technology policy (AI, data, privacy, safety technology, robotics)
