In This Role
As a Motion Designer, you will create, edit, and enhance high-quality video and motion graphics assets that support customer-facing, marketing, social media, and digital experiences. You will transform raw footage, product demonstrations, and creative concepts into compelling visual stories that engage audiences and clearly communicate key messages. This role requires a combination of strong motion design expertise, video editing skills, visual storytelling ability, and production discipline. Success in this position depends on delivering polished creative assets while managing project timelines, file organization, version control, and stakeholder feedback in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Motion Design & Video Creation
Create high-quality motion graphics, animations, video edits, and visual treatments for customer-facing, marketing, and social media content.
Translate product narratives, creative concepts, and source materials into engaging motion and video assets.
Develop polished visual content that supports storytelling, product education, and audience engagement.
Edit and refine content to improve pacing, clarity, visual appeal, and overall effectiveness.
Video Editing & Post-Production
Edit raw footage, screen captures, demonstrations, animations, and visual assets into finished video content.
Apply motion effects, transitions, typography, color correction, audio synchronization, and other finishing elements to meet quality standards.
Prepare deliverables across multiple formats, channels, aspect ratios, and platforms.
Ensure all final assets are accurate, brand-compliant, accessible, and ready for stakeholder review or publication.
Design Quality & Brand Execution
Apply strong visual design principles across composition, typography, timing, pacing, hierarchy, and storytelling.
Maintain consistency with established brand standards and creative direction.
Identify opportunities to improve customer understanding and engagement through thoughtful motion design and editing decisions.
Balance creative excellence with project timelines, production requirements, and business objectives.
Production Management & Workflow
Manage file organization, naming conventions, version control, asset tracking, and delivery processes.
Maintain production timelines, milestones, schedules, and status updates across multiple projects.
Track revisions, approvals, stakeholder feedback, and final deliverables.
Communicate risks, blockers, dependencies, and timeline changes proactively.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Partner with design, product, marketing, and business stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.
Communicate project status, timelines, deliverables, and challenges effectively.
Prepare design explorations, revised cuts, and final assets for stakeholder review.
Contribute creative recommendations that improve storytelling, customer understanding, and overall content performance.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Motion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Film/Video Production, Digital Media, Studio Art/Fine Art, or a related field.
2–4 years of professional experience in motion design, video editing, or digital content production.
Advanced proficiency with Adobe After Effects and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience using productivity and collaboration tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and AI‑assisted workplace technologies.
Strong portfolio demonstrating:
Motion graphics
Video editing
Visual storytelling
High‑quality production execution
Experience creating motion and video content for marketing, social media, customer‑facing, digital, or product‑related initiatives.
Strong understanding of:
Motion design principles
Typography
Visual hierarchy
Composition
Pacing and timing
Brand consistency
Experience managing file organization, naming conventions, version control, production schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating motion graphics or video content within technology, SaaS, enterprise software, or productivity‑focused environments.
Knowledge of video accessibility best practices, including:
Captioning
Readability
Color contrast
Clear visual communication
Experience working in structured production environments with formal review processes, approval workflows, and stakeholder feedback cycles.
Demonstrated success balancing creative execution with operational and production management responsibilities.
Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is
$35–$40 USD/Hourly . Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
