Assistant Brand Manager (Freelance)
We are hiring an Assistant Brand Manager to join a top retail company in San Francisco, CA. This freelance position will run for 7 months with potential to extend and will be hybrid in our SF HQ.

Pay Rate: $40/HR

Responsibilities

Create and maintain brief shells and updates in our Martech tools, ensuring the Growth team always has accurate, up-to-date campaign information.

Manage reporting setup, asset info line items, and linking within our campaign management platforms.

Serve as a reliable point of contact for brief status and tool hygiene across the team.

Conduct thorough QA on paid media assets and placements across platforms including Meta and Google, flagging discrepancies before campaigns go live.

Partner with the broader media team to ensure creative specs, copy, and targeting details are accurate and on-brand.

Develop a strong working knowledge of paid media fundamentals and a keen eye for detail.

Route content to external agency and vendor partners with clear direction, deadlines, and feedback — keeping projects moving without bottlenecks.

Own end‑to‑end delivery of small promotional content projects, managing timelines, versioning, and final approvals.

Build collaborative relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders to streamline content workflows.

Serve as the primary owner for store signage communications, partnering closely with Retail Marketing and Store Operations to ensure timely, accurate in‑store messaging.

Manage the flow of signage briefs, approvals, and change communications to the right teams at the right time.

Connect brand campaigns to the physical retail environment, reinforcing a consistent customer experience in every store.

Required Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in marketing, brand management, project coordination, or a related field (internships count).

Familiarity with paid media platforms such as Meta Ads Manager or Google Ads — you don’t need to be an expert, but you understand how campaigns are structured.

Experience with project management tools such as Workfront, Asana, or similar.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office.

Experience in retail, fashion, or consumer brand marketing ideal.

Exposure to in‑store or shopper marketing, signage production, or retail operations ideal.
