Curtis Media Group has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Local News Producer in Goldsboro, NC , for GoldsboroDailyNews.com .

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess strong writing skills, and be proficient in social media. This position involves covering local news, entertainment, education, events, and other relevant community content by preparing stories, capturing photographs and videos, and producing multimedia material. Building and maintaining relationships with local leaders and community sources is also essential.

Job Responsibilities

Write and publish content for GoldsboroDailyNews.com

Interview local and regional community sources

Meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure

Capture and edit photos and videos from local events

Utilize social media to engage and inform readers

Post and manage content on GoldsboroDailyNews.com

Produce short news reports for all CMG Goldsboro radio stations

Collaborate with the sales leadership team on seasonal sponsorships and potential publications

Potentially manage freelance content contributors

Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and word processing programs

Experience with WordPress

Strong familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube

Photo and video editing skills

Strong writing and editing abilities, including knowledge of AP Style

Willingness to learn new software and digital tools as needed
