Job Summary

The Media Delivery team at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology manages the entire audio and video encoding supply chain—from content acquisition to delivery for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. The team performs daily processes for live and on‑demand streaming products, ensuring a high‑quality experience across all platforms and playback scenarios. As a Senior Media Delivery Operator, you will work with a small, dynamic team to monitor and troubleshoot the VOD ingestion pipeline, provide technical expertise for content issues, and support system health, incident management, and cross‑team communications.
Responsibilities

Coordinate with the larger coordinator team to ensure assets complete the ingest pipeline and are reviewed and approved on time.
Provide technical support and oversight of the ingest pipeline and supply chain.
Troubleshoot, debug, and troubleshoot content issues, escalating as appropriate.
Handle special projects requested by management.
Update and maintain documentation and train new team members on procedures.
Maintain ongoing status reports on the overall health of the ingest pipeline for senior staff.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
Strong knowledge of video codecs and encoding.
Familiarity with video streaming, specifically HLS.
Understanding of closed captions, subtitles, XML, and JSON structures.
Knowledge of industry standard delivery specifications such as CableLabs and MovieLabs.
Previous experience supporting a VOD workflow or Digital Asset Management system.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track large‑scale projects.
Strong multi‑tasking abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in video or film.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving A/V, XML, and timed text content issues.
Ability to research and normalize metadata and create tracking tickets for asset remediation.
Previous experience providing technical and operational support for live and VOD streaming media orchestration.
