Who are we hiring?
The Manager of Communications will play a vital role in supporting public relations and communications initiatives for Sphere. This role will assist the team in developing communications strategies across original experiences, creative content, brand initiatives, marketing partnerships, brand events, community initiatives, continued expansion, and more. Reporting to the Vice President, the Communications Manager will handle several core responsibilities with a focus on organizing, coordinating and executing daily team needs. This includes managing and updating press lists, press materials, team calendars, executive speaking opportunities, event calendars, and distribution of press announcements and assets.

What will you do?

Support the Sphere communications team with day-to-day PR needs

Work with Communications team to develop publicity strategies to drive earned media for various brand and business initiatives across Sphere

Develop creative story angles, pitches and press materials to publicize experiences, live residencies, brand, and product initiatives, leveraging relevant industry trends, consumer insights and seasonal opportunities

Plan and staff industry events, press tours, as well as assist with executing company-wide events

Support the development of press materials for senior leadership, including awards submissions, interview briefing documents, and announcements for new hires and promotions

Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with various departments across Sphere

Manage team calendars, executive speaking opportunities and event calendars, research and maintain media contact lists, and maintain other internal communications resources

Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?

5+ years public relations and media experience particularly in entertainment

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related fields

Experience with proactive pitching and media interaction

Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Experience with managing and creating publicity assets

Strong communication, creativity and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills to leadership

Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment; manage multiple responsibilities without jeopardizing deadlines

A detail-oriented self-starter and team player with a great attitude

Ability to work across multiple groups within a matrix organization; gather and organize information as necessary

Special Requirements

Based in New York, NY with occasional travel.

Ability to work late nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Pay Range
$83,000 — $130,000 USD
