Digital Content Producer – WSPA-TV, Spartanburg/Greenville, SC

We are seeking a Digital Content Producer to join the team at Nexstar Media Group.
Responsibilities

Lead the transition from broadcast‑focused newsrooms to multi‑platform newsrooms through daily example, providing training in methods, processes, and tactics.
Create and edit origin content for non‑on‑air channels.
Develop and lead winning strategies for station content, with expert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines.
Use social media and the station website to build brand recognition and drive viewers to television.
Determine a story's emphasis, length, and format, and organize material accordingly.
Research and analyze background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate information.
Gather information about events through research, interviews, or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, or other functions.
Pitch on‑brand local and trending stories during morning meetings.
Check reference materials such as books, news files, or public records to obtain relevant facts.
Shoot and edit content for on‑air and digital platforms.
Produce reports for all platforms.
Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
Build and plan digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials.
Write stories for the web and other digital platforms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Find new ways to use social media and the website to engage with viewers.
Qualifications

Degree in journalism or a relevant field.
Daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred.
Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML.
Preferred: CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co‑workers in all departments.
Respond positively to feedback.
