Content Producer – FOX40

FOX40 and fox40.com are continuing to expand our commitment to digital first local journalism. We are looking for a Content Producer to join our award‑winning team. This role is responsible for discovering, assigning, and posting news stories, responding quickly to breaking news, and managing social media content.
Responsibilities

Post stories to fox40.com, FOX40 social media sites and FOX40 CTV Apps
Post to social media accounts using company standards
Monitor police and emergency scanners and electronic/printed sources for news and disseminate information to appropriate newsroom personnel
Coordinate and dispatch reporters and photographers to execute news coverage
Conduct beat calls and contact public information officers to gather information
Answer calls from viewers and develop possible story ideas
Work all shifts, including nights and weekends, and be willing and able to work all shifts
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
3 years’ experience in a working newsroom as a producer, reporter, or assignment editor
Proficiency in Associated Press style
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional writing, proofreading, copy editing, and strong writing skills
Excellent news judgment and attention to detail
Ability to work well under deadline pressure and autonomously
Strong people and leadership skills to work with everyone in the newsroom and station
Understanding of SEO and ability to use it effectively to improve website traffic
Social media skills: familiarity with various social media and digital platforms
Compensation

$24.00+/hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.
