The Digital Marketing Senior Manager, AI Discoverability & Digital Authority will define and execute TD's enterprise strategy for organic visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered discovery platforms. This leader will be responsible for ensuring TD's products, services, expertise, and brand are highly discoverable, accurately represented, and competitively positioned across Google Search, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, social networks, and other evolving digital experiences.
The role will lead the development of enterprise capabilities spanning SEO, AI search optimization, content strategy, digital authority building, structured data, entity optimization, knowledge graph management, and social signal amplification. Working across owned, earned, shared, and partner channels, this leader will establish scalable frameworks that strengthen TD's visibility, credibility, and influence within search engines, Large Language Models (LLMs), answer engines, and recommendation systems.
In addition, the role will establish measurement frameworks and KPIs for AI visibility, share of voice, citation presence, sentiment, authority, and brand representation, enabling TD to understand and improve its performance across an increasingly fragmented discovery landscape. The successful candidate will help position TD as a category leader by translating emerging search, social, and AI trends into actionable strategies that drive awareness, engagement, acquisition, and business growth.
As a strategic partner to the leadership team and key subject matter expert, this role will define TD's SEO, AI Search, and Digital Authority roadmap to help the organization succeed in a rapidly evolving discovery landscape. The role requires close collaboration with North American Center of Excellence teams, product marketing, social media, communications, design, analytics, governance, and external agencies to align content, search, and digital authority initiatives with enterprise priorities while leveraging advancements in generative AI, structured data, schema optimization, and emerging discovery technologies.
This leader will manage 2-4 direct reports and oversee strategic vendor partnerships, including Conductor, Yext, and other technology and agency partners. The successful candidate will combine strategic vision, operational excellence, stakeholder influence, digital fluency, and people leadership to deliver measurable improvements in organic visibility, AI discoverability, digital authority, and business performance. Other responsibilities include building strong internal and external partnerships, driving innovation, and providing executive leadership on emerging trends shaping the future of search, social, and AI-driven customer discovery.
The Senior Group Manager, Digital Marketing leads a team of marketing professionals in the development, delivery, and evaluation of large and/or highly complex and diverse digital, social or content marketing service offerings. As a strategic partner to the leadership team and key subject matter expert, the Senior Group Manager, Digital Marketing helps drive the strategic agenda of the overall team, function, and/or assigned portfolio(s) and financials as well as identifies operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas.
Depth & Scope:
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
Oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project/initiative success and achieve business results
Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices
Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise
Acts as a strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external/internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas
Facilitates key strategic discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/frameworks/short to long term goals, etc.)
Sets operational team direction and collaborates with others to execute on common goals
Focuses on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree and/or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
10+ years relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of multiple marketing disciplines, strategy development, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and product/customer markets
Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
Knowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulations
Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership
Ability to forecast initiatives and demand in order to develop annual strategic plan
Skill in managing budgets, P&L and resource allocation
Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion of product initiatives
Skill in talent development and performance management

Preferred Skills:
In lieu of an undergraduate degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, TD will consider those with a Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in the following:
Deep expertise in AI Discoverability, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and Large Language Model (LLM) optimization strategies.
Experience developing enterprise strategies that improve brand visibility, citation frequency, sentiment, and recommendation rates across AI platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, and emerging agentic search experiences.
Strong understanding of how LLMs consume, interpret, retrieve, rank, and cite information, including the role of content quality, entity authority, structured data, publisher relationships, and knowledge graphs.
Experience leveraging schema markup, structured content, semantic search principles, vector search concepts, entity optimization, and knowledge graph development to improve discoverability.
Expertise in establishing and measuring AI Share of Voice, AI Citation Share, AI Sentiment, Answer Presence, Entity Authority, and AI Visibility metrics.
Experience developing cross-channel content strategies that align SEO, public relations, social media, thought leadership, and digital publishing efforts to maximize AI and search visibility.
Strong understanding of how social platforms, user-generated content, online communities, forums, and creator ecosystems influence visibility within AI-generated responses and search experiences.
Experience building integrated content ecosystems across owned, earned, shared, and syndicated channels to strengthen digital authority and trust signals.
Familiarity with AI-search monitoring and intelligence platforms such as Profound, BrandRank, Scrunch AI, Semrush AI Toolkit, BrightEdge, Conductor, Similarweb, and enterprise SEO technologies.
Ability to translate emerging AI search trends into actionable enterprise roadmaps, governance frameworks, and executive-level recommendations.
Experience partnering with data science, analytics, content, martech, and social media teams to create a unified approach to AI discoverability and digital authority.
